What's new in this version of Newsbin A follow-up to 2.0 focused on stability, faster scrolling in large lists, better auto-read behavior, and Watch and Widget fixes. New - Per-article auto-read on scroll: articles are marked read as they leave the top of your list, with new "Read Above" and "Read Below" swipe actions. - Preview Top Story notification from Intelligence settings to see exactly how alerts will appear. - Watch → Phone Smart Group editing: create and edit Smart Groups on the Watch and have them saved back to your library. - Breaking News now always has content: falls back to a Top Stories rail (newest per source) when embeddings aren't yet available. Improvements - Much smoother scrolling in large article lists thanks to lazy Read/Unread computation and a phase-only remap fast path. - Widget deep-linking is more reliable: article IDs with slashes are properly encoded, and Watch accessory widgets tap through correctly. - Smart Group badges now respect your tag filters. - Refresh no longer overwrites AI fields (like summaries) with parser data. - Single-source Breaking News cards hide the multi-source footer. - AI summaries are cleaned of hallucinated "Tool Results" transcripts and stray "Summary:" prefixes, and existing summaries are migrated on next maintenance. Fixes - Fixed background terminations (0xdead10cc) caused by CloudKit imports during suspension and a duplicate NearbyState created at launch. - Fixed an out-of-memory crash caused by unbounded gzip buffer growth in the media scanner. - Fixed iOS launch wiring so notification delegates and the CloudKit guard start reliably. - Fixed tag edits from the article view that appeared to do nothing (tag saves are now persisted before relist). - Fixed several small crashes reported from TestFlight builds. - Fixed iCloud key-value sync round-trip on watchOS.
